About CareTaskNest

CareTaskNest is a website that helps families organize the everyday care of an aging parent or relative. It brings together free browser-based tools, printable templates, practical guides and a shared family care planner, so the people involved in someone's care can see what needs doing, who is doing it and what happened last time.

Why we built CareTaskNest

Caring for an older relative is rarely a single person's job. It usually involves a spouse, adult children, a neighbor, perhaps a paid caregiver, and a growing list of appointments, medications to collect, bills, meals and phone calls. The information tends to live in text messages, paper notes on the fridge and one person's memory.

That is where things slip. Two people buy the same groceries, nobody books the follow-up appointment, or a caregiver arrives without knowing that the morning routine changed last week. CareTaskNest is meant to reduce that friction. It does not replace the people doing the caring. It gives them a calmer, shared place to keep track.

What you can use on CareTaskNest

Free tools

Our free tools run in your browser. What you type stays in your browser (in local storage on your device) and is not sent to our server. The tools are:

  • Home care cost calculator – estimate weekly and monthly costs for paid help at home.
  • Caregiver daily log generator – create a simple daily log for meals, activities, mood and notes.
  • Weekly care schedule builder – lay out who covers which day and time.
  • Senior emergency information sheet – gather key contacts, conditions and insurance details on one page.
  • Home safety checklist – walk through the home room by room and note what to fix.

You do not need an account to use them.

Printable templates

We offer 10 printable templates, such as care logs, contact lists and medication lists. You can fill them in on screen or print them blank. Each is available in A4 and US Letter sizes.

Guides

Our guides cover practical subjects such as arranging help at home, planning respite and preparing for appointments. They are written by the CareTaskNest Editorial Team, cite their sources, and show the date they were last reviewed. You can read how we work in our editorial policy.

Family care planner

The family care planner is for families who want to coordinate together. It needs an account. In the planner you create a care space for a household, then:

  • add tasks, assign them, set due dates and make them repeat;
  • see everything on a shared calendar in the household's time zone;
  • write visit reports and choose who can see them;
  • invite relatives and caregivers by a single-use link, each with a role that fits what they need to do.

There is a free plan. Paid plans (Family and Family Plus) are planned but are not yet available to buy, because online payments are not live.

What CareTaskNest is not

CareTaskNest is an organizing tool, not a medical service. We do not provide diagnosis, treatment or medication advice, and nothing on the site should be used in place of advice from a doctor, pharmacist, nurse or other qualified professional. If someone is in danger or has a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US) straight away.

We are also not a care agency. We do not employ or recommend individual caregivers, and we do not arrange services on your behalf.

How we handle your information

We try to collect only what the service needs. The free tools keep your entries in your browser. In the planner, passwords are hashed and sessions use secure cookies. We do not sell personal data, and the notes you write about a relative are never sent to analytics or advertising services. You can export your data or delete your account at any time from Account settings. Full details are in our privacy policy and cookie policy.

Languages

The CareTaskNest interface is available in 21 languages. Our guides are currently published in English, in US and UK editions, because care systems, costs and terminology differ between countries.

Who runs CareTaskNest

CareTaskNest is operated by the operator of CareTaskNest. Our guides are written and reviewed by the CareTaskNest Editorial Team. If you have a question, a correction or an idea, please use the form on our contact page. We read every message, and feedback from families shapes what we build next.
