Carer hours & mileage log
Hours and miles add up quickly and are easy to forget. Log each visit or errand as it happens; the tool keeps monthly totals and exports a clean table you can give to an accountant, the benefits office or the rest of the family.
Whether caring travel, time or expenses can be deducted or claimed depends on the HMRC and benefit rules that apply to you — this log only records what you enter. Keep receipts; many authorities require them.
What you type stays in this browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Used only to estimate the value of journeys, for example HMRC's approved mileage rate.

Can I claim carer mileage against tax?
It depends on your circumstances and your relationship to the person. Unpaid caring is not usually tax-deductible in the UK, but mileage and hours records support benefit claims and some employer or council schemes. Check with HMRC or an accountant, and keep this log and your receipts as evidence.
Why track hours?
Hours show the real size of the job. They help when asking your local council for support, when claiming Carer's Allowance, which requires at least 35 hours of care a week, and when sharing costs fairly among family members.
Where is my data stored?
Only in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent to our servers. Export the CSV regularly if you want a copy elsewhere, and clear the log when you no longer need it.
